Help Israel Colunga and Family Stay Afloat
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Alexandria and my husband's name is Israel Colunga. We have a 2-year-old daughter named Raven and a baby on the way, coming this November. We are from Texas and we are your typical 9-5 hardworking class people, just trying to make ends meet.
When my husband was 7 years old, he had to have his right kidney removed due to a cancerous tumor inside of it, leaving him with one functioning kidney. As many years passed by, the one kidney took on the responsibility of two, and wear and tear took its course. With high blood pressure in the mix, basically, his kidney was shot. When we finally realized how bad it had actually gotten, we found out his kidney function was at 11 percent. Israel had to be hospitalized for almost 2 weeks, and he was released on Father's Day. He is still unable to return to work at this time. He's now having to adjust to being put on dialysis until we can find him a donor match. We never thought in a million years, at the age of 33, we would have to be dealing with such health issues.
As you can imagine, having two incomes was a blessing in today's economy. Now that he's missed almost a month's worth of work, we are facing a scary question we thought we would never have to ask ourselves: how on earth are we going to pay our next month's rent and other hefty bills that come along with that?
We are just asking for help with the bare essentials to keep this roof over our heads. We thank you for taking the time to read our story. A big thank you to anyone who finds it in their hearts to help us through this hard time.
