Help Ismail Fight High-Risk Neuroblastoma

On 4 September 2024, our family’s world was turned upside down. My nephew Ismail, just 9 months old, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma—a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.

Born on 24 November 2023, Ismail has spent most of his young life undergoing 12 months of intense chemotherapy and multiple surgeries at Westmead Children’s Hospital, which has become a second home for his family.

Now, Ismail is facing the next phase of treatment: monthly immunotherapy sessions, each requiring a full week in hospital. These treatments are incredibly tough on his little body and mind. Ismail suffers from severe separation anxiety, making each hospital stay even more distressing.

His parents—my brother and sister-in-law—have had to put everything on hold to be by his side. With two children under two, no stable income, and mounting medical and travel costs, the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming.

Watching my brother carry this burden has broken our hearts. That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe—to help ease even a small part of the financial strain and allow them to focus on what matters most: Ismail’s recovery.
