I am Islam from Gaza, precisely from Khan Younis, a mother to two daughters:
- Masah (3 years old)
- Misk (9 months old)
Since October 7th, our lives have been turned upside down, and with the occupation's invasion of Khan Younis in November, my husband and I lost everything we owned, including our jobs, income sources, house, possessions, clothes, and furniture. Our memories were buried under the rubble of our home. We lost everything in an instant.
Amidst this universally known suffering, I have become unable to provide my children with their basic needs, such as food, milk, and diapers, due to limited resources and soaring prices. Not to mention the risk of pollution and diseases that have struck and continue to afflict my daughters due to malnutrition and contaminated water.
With all this, I cannot express the fear my daughters experience from the sounds of bombing and terror, especially at night. We cannot sleep or feel at ease at a time when we should be resting and living a dignified life like any other human being.
Look at us with compassion, me and my children, so we may live a normal life where we can enjoy our simplest rights, and my children can live in peace and without danger.
