Help Ishmael Walton Stay in School

Hello, my name is Amy Tate, grandmother to Ishmael Walton. I am petitioning for assistance with a hopeful heart. My grandson is a student at Hinds CC in Jackson, Mississippi, and needs to attend summer school which will not be covered by financial aid. Ishmael’s major is graphic design, summer school is required to assist him in raising his GPA to continue progression in his major. Ishmael is a young man who has worked hard to pursue his college education. Unfortunately, he came across obstacles that hindered his ability to perform. Now that his focus is back on track he is determined succeed.

It is our determination to help keep him focused with whatever real we are able to give. We’ve just learned that he needs $4,000 to cover his remaining tuition and fees for the upcoming semester. Without this amount, he won’t be able to return to school — something we are trying our best to prevent.

As his grandmother, I’ve watched him grow into a respectful, hard-working young man with big dreams and a heart full of determination. He’s come too far to have his journey cut short due to financial hardship. We’re doing all we can as a family, but we can’t do this alone.

If you’re able to give anything — no matter how small — it would mean the world to us. Every dollar brings him one step closer to staying on track with his education and building a better future.
