Isha has valley fever and is being eaten alive by this fungus - it has already spread from her leg into her shoulder and without medical intervention she will pass away. We are trying to purchase the expensive medication and care needed to counter this rare and horrifying condition but it can take months of treatment. We could really use your help to keep up with these vet bills so that we continue to pay for the treatments she needs.

Isha is a stray cat we took in December 2024 after appearing at our doorstep, clearly needing some help. We had been getting her routine vet appointments done to integrate her into our household when, around February, she started limping out of the blue. We took her to the vet, but her condition steadily worsened, getting a lesion on her arm that wouldn’t heal. It took some time for the vet to diagnose her with Valley Fever, a fungal infection localized to the southwestern US and caused by inhaling the fungus after dirt has been disturbed.

This condition is very rare in cats, and it seems her case of it has gotten particularly bad as prior vet treatment had been ineffective due to them not initially suspecting the condition. Her infection is primarily in her front arm and has caused lesions on the skin and has also been eating away at her bone all the way from her wrist to her shoulder. If her condition worsens, she may need to get her arm amputated.

We finally have her on the medicine for Valley Fever now that it has been diagnosed. The vet care has already cost over $2000 to get the care she needs. There is no reason why she shouldn’t be able to survive and have a normal life, even if the leg has to be lost. We are doing all that we can for her, but some assistance with the vet bills would be greatly appreciated.

Even with everything going on, Isha has been full of life and has a very strong and confident personality. She is very sweet and likes treats, exploring, and watching TV.
