Help Ish get home!

My name is Ian Santos & I created this GoFundMe for Ishimine Johnson. I put it in her name so that she would have complete access to the account & would be solely in charge of the funds from the money raised from this point forward. I just created it myself for 2 reasons: 1) because I am a writer & knew I could do a good job at conveying the message behind this fundraiser, & the need for it, & 2) because “Ish” is too shy/embarrassed to ask for money. (She didn’t even want to create this fundraiser because she didn’t want to ask anyone for money & inconveniece them, but I wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. We all need help sometimes & can’t be too proud or “independent” to ask for it, when we need it.)

So here is the situation:
Unfortunately, Ish & her family were given some heartbreaking news a few months ago: her father has a terminal illness - cancer! This was a shock to her & her entire family. Ish knew, immediately, that she had to get home to help her family & to be there to comfort her dad & enjoy all of the time with him that she could. However, there’s one little problem.... he lives in Washington State & she lives in Florida. She has been trying to save money & figure out how to get herself & all of her belongings home to Washington. But if you have ever known anyone who has battled with Cancer, you know better than anyone that “time waits for no one.” With that said, according to a recent update from her father’s doctor, his health is deteriorating fast.

If you know Ish (which I’m assuming most of you who are reading this do) know that she has served 6 years in the United States military as a member of the Air Force. This experience of traveling back & forth to her military bases & even being deployed across seas, along with moving to Florida by herself back in 2010, has made her very independent. She was actually going to drive home (YES, DRIVE ALL THE WAY FROM FLORIDA TO WASHINGTON) by herself because she doesn’t have the money to ship her car & belongings home. Of course, myself & another good friend, couldn’t let her do that as it is an incredibly long & dangerous drive, especially alone & especially as a young lady.

What the money will be used for:
We have found a few transport services that will transport her car across country safely to Washington where she & her family can pick it up. There is one in particular that we have our sights set on that is a reputable company. They charge $1,650 for the entire service, which is comparable to the other rates we saw from various companies who offer the same service. However, with Ish quitting her job here in Orlando recently & not having anything secure yet in Washington, she can’t affford this her own. (Also, she is buying herself a one-way plane ticket home next week.) I told her that I would pay the deposit of $250 to the transport company  & will make the first pledge on her GoFundMe, in addition, to help her. The rest of the $1,400 that is raised will go entirely (with exception to the fees that GoFundMe extracts from the fundraiser) to paying the transport service & will allow her to keep the money she does have saved up for food & other expenses when she gets home until she can get herself a job there.

Please help Ish get home to her family & be there for her dad. We know that nothing is final except God’s Word & are therefore relying on Him & praying that he would make a way & heal her dad. Whether you are able or unable to make a donation, a simple prayer for him is more than enough to help her family at this time. Please keep them in you thoughts & prayers.
