Help Isatou get Lifesaving Heart Surgery!

Hi everyone. I'm fundraising for my Gambian teacher Aja's daughter Isatou. Aja was my language teacher in Gambia and is a really close friend of mine. She showed me incredible hospitality and kindness during my service and I always hoped to someday be able to return the favor.

Aja's daughter Isatou (born in January 2024) has a hole in her heart and she is having difficulty breathing. Doctors knew about the hole in February but said that it was possible that it would close on its own. That didn't happen. Isatou has been struggling to breathe and gain weight for months now and was just admitted to the hospital yesterday. Aja has been at the hospital with Isatou for over 24 hours, hoping and praying that her heart will get better.

Gambia doesn't have the medical infrastructure to support ASD (atrial septal defect) or heart hole surgery so we are hoping to fundraise $20,000 to fund Aja and Isatou's trip to Turkey to get this surgery done.
