We are trying to raise funds for Isaiah. He is the kindest, sweetest, and most empathetic soul you will ever meet. He is a 21-year-old living with his younger brother and roommate in their apartment in Minneapolis. He has a hard work ethic, working a full-time and part-time job. He went to two urgent care and two ER visits, where he received dismissive and negligent care. He was discharged with the diagnosis of having a normal sinus infection. He was still trying to go to work and “function,” and it was impossible. His mother went to advocate for him on his 3rd ER visit because his eyes had been swollen shut for weeks, and it was obvious this was not a normal “sinus infection.” The antibiotics they had prescribed were obviously not working. After demanding a CT/MRI scan, it revealed an infection was about to reach his brain and was in his orbital sinus canals. This could have blinded him or worse, been fatal. He was rushed into the operating room. He has now had a 3rd operation, and there are more to come. His expected stay in the hospital is at least two weeks. He will then be sent home with an antibiotic IV port and medications. His care, recovery, and administration of medication will have to be supervised by family members. This will take months. Isaiah is inspirational with his positive attitude, even through his suffering for weeks. He maintains his spirit through all of his operations and still brings joy to a room. It is still uncertain about the mountain of medical bills, loss of wages, and housing insecurities. Anything you can do to help is appreciated.
