Help Isaiah Maxi's Family Through This Tragic Loss

It is with a heavy heart that I am arranging funeral services for my baby brother, Isaiah Maxi, following his sudden passing. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, teammate, and community servant who meant so much to so many.

Isaiah played a vital role in his community and an even bigger role within his family. With his passing, there is not only the overwhelming grief of losing him, but also a major void in the everyday life and care of his immediate family. Isaiah was a key caretaker in helping his father raise his two younger siblings, Ally and Alesha, who are both entering high school this fall.

Isaiah was deeply involved in their lives—he took them school shopping, supported their sports and extracurricular activities, drove them to and from school, signed them up for youth programs, and made sure they experienced a full and active childhood. His absence leaves a gap not only in love but in the everyday support his family relied on.

We are asking for help in three main ways to support Isaiah’s family during this heartbreaking transition:

• To offset funeral expenses and give Isaiah the homegoing he deserves

• To help sustain his immediate household in the coming months, providing resources for basic needs, transportation, extracurricular activities, and grief counseling for his father and siblings as they process this tremendous loss

• Travel expenses for Isaiah’s extended family from Haiti who wish to attend his service. Isaiah’s Haitian heritage was a meaningful and proud part of his identity, and it would mean the world to the family to have his loved ones from Haiti present to honor him.
