Isaiah Rodriguez is a graduating senior from Alonso High School whose love of learning shines despite incredible challenges. Ariel discovered Isaiah’s story on Facebook and was moved to help. After losing his father to a drug overdose and his mother to incarceration, Isaiah and his sister found a home with their grandmother. Now, Isaiah is the 'man of the house,' taking care of bills, court documents, and taxes, all while maintaining a remarkable 5.9 GPA and taking extra courses through UF’s dual enrollment program.
Even with these obstacles, Isaiah’s determination to succeed has never wavered. He’s been accepted to USF and dreams of attending college, but financial uncertainty stands in the way. The funds raised will help cover his tuition, provide essential school supplies, support his grandmother, and ensure there’s food on the table.
Isaiah and his grandmother want to thank everyone who has supported them, especially Ms. Laber, Ms. Wilder, Ms. Gunnin, Mr. Durante, and the cafeteria ladies at Alonso High School for their encouragement. They send their heartfelt thanks and blessings to all who are willing to help during this time. The information provided about Isaiah was originally shared on the Hillsborough County Public School page, and many viewers who saw it expressed a desire to contribute. Your support means the world to Isaiah and his family.
