Help Isabelle Attend NYLF at UC Berkeley

Hi everyone,

My name is Isabelle Tracy, and I am a freshman at McKinleyville High School. I'm incredibly excited to have been accepted into the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) on Medicine & Healthcare at the University of California, Berkeley this summer in July. I have been a part of this STEM program since I was in 4th grade. I was happy to attend my first NYLF Conference which is the step up with in-person learning, back in 2023 with my Grandma in Washington DC for a week-long conference. I learned so much and made some amazing memories I plan to carry on in my career, many of these opportunities we don't get much of from our limited location in Humboldt who want to learn more about it.

My goal is to become an ultrasound technician, growing up on the reservation in Hoopa California we have a small clinic at the end of the road, I hope that I can one day can provide medical aid via ultrasound technology to my local reservations and other native lands. Experiences and conferences like these provide seeds to be planted for our youth to push our limits and challenge our minds to work hard and better ourselves for our community and wellness.

This prestigious program offers an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical field with collegiate first-hand workshops at a young age, have interactive lessons done with advisors, and rotate through clinical skill rotations with other students attending.

The cost of attending the NYLF is $4,500, which covers tuition, This doesn’t include the travel down south with rentals and the week-long stay. Unfortunately, my family cannot cover the full cost of this life-changing experience so I am seeking help from my community to get me there to pay in full! Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a huge difference in helping me attend this incredible program. I am extremely grateful for your support and believe that this experience will have a lasting positive impact on my future.
