Hi everyone. I feel uncomfortable writing this, because it’s difficult to ask for financial support. I have had multiple grand mal seizures growing up. They were few and far between and I didn’t believe they were affecting me in any other way. Lately, I have been having nerve issues. Sharp pains randomly, and every few days my hands will start shaking for about 30 minutes at a time. After recently visiting a neurologist and describing the issues I was having they ordered an EEG. This test is used to detect abnormalities in my brain waves. The 29 minute EEG picked up 6 different “sparks” within that small time frame. These sparks are each seen as potential seizures and can often have lasting, long term effects. I have started taking medication, but the initial test only told us so much. My Dr had ordered a 72 hour EEG, in which I would wear a cap detecting my brain waves and any abnormalities. This would be able to tell us exactly what kind of seizures I am having and help me find the right medications and treatment. The seizure activity in my brain has affected my attention, short term memory, and is now presenting in nerve issues. I am unable to financially afford this and am asking for any help possible. My treatment is scheduled for the the last week in January (starting on the 24th). If I am unable to find the money I will have to cancel the procedure. I am beyond thankful for all of your support. All donations will fund my procedure, help me be able to take the time off work for testing, and help me with all medications, and follow up appointments.
