Help Isabella Shine at the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition

Hi Everyone!

My name is Isabella Perez– I am a 20 year old undergraduate bassoon performance major currently studying at The University of Texas at Austin with the wonderful Professor Kristin Wolfe Jensen. I have been playing the bassoon since I was 12 years old and have loved every minute of my musical journey thus far.

I am beyond excited to share that I am one of the semi-finalists in the 2025 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Symposium that will be held in January at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. MQVC is one of the biggest competitions for women bassoonists across the Americas. It is a huge opportunity for me to put my name out there in the bassoon community, but most of all, to showcase my passion, dedication, and love for music.

To make this happen, my goal is to raise $3,000 in order to cover competition expenses (travel, lodging, bassoon supplies), as well as to attend other music festivals this year that will help me expand my musicianship and build great connections in the field. These experiences are key to my growth as a musician which will bring me closer to achieving my dream: a successful and beautiful career as a professional orchestral bassoonist.
