Hello world,
My name is Isabella Mier. I’m a violist from Los Angeles, currently entering my second year at the Manhattan School of Music. I’m a proud alum of the Colburn School, where I trained for many years before college. I was raised by a single mother who has always believed in the power of music to uplift and transform. Her words and faith in me, along with the inspiring women I’ve looked up to, have taught me to dream boldly and pursue excellence with purpose.
This summer, I’ve been accepted to the prestigious International Summer Academy (ISA) Festival and Masterclass at the MDW (Universitat für Musik und Darstellende kunst wien) School of Music in Vienna, Austria, one of the leading institutions for classical music in Europe and my ultimate dream school! I am so blessed to have been chosen as one of the very few violist to perform in the prestigious ISA Festival Masterclass, I will be performing with the festival academy and making my European solo debut performing Hindemith’s Der Schwanendreher, Glinka’s Viola Sonata, Clarke Viola Sonata and Telemann Viola Concerto . It’s the opportunity of a lifetime and a major milestone in my journey as a soloist.
Despite scholarships and working hard to cover costs, I am still short on the necessary funds to cover tuition, airfare, and housing. The program begins July 18, and I need to depart by July 17, so time is of the essence and I am truly praying for an overnight miracle to take place now.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me. Even if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing my story can help bring this dream within reach.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in young artists like me. Your support helps bring more beauty, passion, and possibility into the world.
With extreme gratitude,
Isabella Vita Mier
