Hi, my name is Danielle, and I’m fundraising for my dear friend Samantha's daughter, Isabella.

A few weeks ago, Isabella’s life changed in an instant. She was a passenger in a serious car accident and was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Doctors discovered internal bleeding from a grade 4 liver injury, and she was taken straight into emergency surgery.

Her injuries were severe and extensive:

10 broken ribs

A fractured sternum

A broken collarbone

A punctured and collapsed lung

Severe seatbelt trauma

Broken/chipped teeth

She was placed in the ICU to begin her recovery. But just as she began to stabilize, complications set in. Isabella developed a lung infection, and both lungs partially collapsed, making it nearly impossible for her to breathe. A code blue was called when she went into respiratory arrest.

Isabella underwent a second emergency surgery, where doctors found a leak in her bile duct. To help her body fight the infection, she was placed on a breathing tube and kept sedated in the ICU.

Thanks to her incredible strength and the tireless work of her medical team, Bella has now left the ICU and is continuing her recovery at home. But her journey is far from over.
