Updating to meet GoFundMe Trust and Safety team requirement:
- Your name and relationship to the person(s) you’re fundraising for (your beneficiary).
My name is Laurie Cho, and with the help of Christy Tam and Julie Kim, I am creating this to help support Isabel, Helen, and Crystal during this difficult time.
I have known Isabel and her family since 2007 through my sister-in-law, Julie Kim, while she was helping Julie raise her children. I got to know her more deeply when she began assisting me with my pregnancy and housework in 2011. Despite having her twin daughters, Helen and Crystal, born earlier that same year, Isabel cared for my daughter as if she were her own. Helen and Crystal became my daughter's best friends and they are like sisters to my daughter. In 2019, I moved to Orange County, and we parted ways, but we’ve continued to meet up twice a year since then, as we consider each other family. Isabel also helped Christy Tam raise her son for three years, starting when he was one year old.
Anyone who knows Isabel falls in love with her. She is the most considerate, selfless, and hardworking person I have ever met, and it breaks our hearts to see her endure such hardships after everything she has already been through in her life.
Due to the Eaton Fire, Isabel and her twin daughters lost their home and everything in it, as the house was completely destroyed. Isabel and Helen were hospitalized after inhaling too much smoke, but they are now out of the hospital and staying in a temporary place. However, they will need a lot of support, beyond what we can provide as family and friends, to get through this challenging time.
- How the funds will be used - please be as specific as possible.
This is to help Isabel and the twins take their first steps toward recovery, such as:
• Securing temporary housing.
• Acquiring essential belongings and school supplies (e.g., technology devices, etc.) for the twin girls.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will help. If you are unable to give, please keep them in your prayers and consider sharing this with your community and networks.
- If your beneficiary wants you to manage the funds for them, share how you’ll send the funds to them, or how you’ll use the funds on their behalf.
The money here will be transferred to my bank account, which I will withdraw and deliver in person with cash.
