Help Isaac's family with funeral & medical bills

Hi my name is Rebecca Galinsky and my dear, sweet friend Barbara Gerami lost her son Isaac Gerami suddenly on December 17, 2021. Isaac's death leaves a huge, gaping whole in the lives of his family, his friends and his community. His wife April, and their 2 kids, are hurting as they try to figure out how to do life without him as their rock. He was an amazing, caring, giving, compassionate, generous, loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, realtor and community leader who is now gone way too soon.

God calls us to love & serve one another. From an early age, Isaac firmly believed this was God's calling on his life. I knew Isaac as a teenager and marveled at how much he loved his siblings and how proud he was to be a big brother. I experienced this personally when I was worked in the church nursery and Isaac would drop off his youngest sibling; he would beam with pride and love for the baby like I've never seen from a sibling before. As a teenager, he never batted an eye at suctioning a brother's tracheostomy, giving a tube feeding to a sibling, or even changing a diaper. He was happy to be able to help and serve his mother and siblings in any way that he could. He was truly the most respectful, empathic and responsible teenager I've ever known, and mature beyond his years.

In 2004, Isaac married April, his best friend and the love of his life. God blessed them with a son, Bryton who is 13, and a daughter, Isla who is 12. Isaac always wanted to be a police officer from the time he was 3 years old. He eventually achieved that dream when he became a Marshall with the City of Von Ormy, near San Antonio, TX. Isaac and his trusty 4-legged partner, Tina, were the K-9 unit in his department. He loved serving alongside her. While being a Marshall, he headed up the youth Explorers program in Von Ormy. Until his sudden and unexpected death last week, he continued to mentor others. Several former Explorers were still reaching out to him and he continued to encourage and challenge them. After leaving Von Ormy, he served as the head of the Police department at the College of Creative Arts in San Antonio for 5 years. Then, he felt called away from being a public servant to become a Realtor, establishing the HeartIs Realtor group. This was another way for him to serve and minister to others as HeartIs focuses primarily on helping those in challenging situations to be able to become homeowners. Money was never a motivator for Isaac as he often gave away as much as he earned on the sales.

Isaac's wife recently had to leave the workforce due to health issues. Due to this unexpected change, Isaac had become the sole provider for his family at the time of his death. Now the family is faced with the task of coming up with the money to cover a funeral & burial expenses, hospital bills, an upcoming surgery for Isaac's wife, as well as their normal monthly living expenses when their sole source of income has been lost. This is a daunting and burdensome task especially when grieving the death of their husband/Daddy.

I would love to be able to help take some of this burden and stress off the shoulders of the Gerami family thru this GoFundMe. It was Isaac's love for the Lord, and his mother's example, that gave him his passion & heart for serving others. As people who love and care about the Gerami family, I pray that we can honor his life and legacy by helping and serving his family now and in the days and months ahead. Currently, their biggest need is a financial one. This is something we can all help with, whether thru a small or large contribution.
