This fundraiser is to help our son, Isaac, with medical expenses and living expenses. He was injured in a senseless shooting. The shooter killed two people and injured two. None of them knew the gunman.
We were having a quiet New Year's Eve when 2022 decided to start off with a bang. I was awoken at 2 am by a call from Isaac saying he was at the hospital and that he had been shot. My heart stopped and my brain literally couldn't process those words for a minute. There was a shooter at the Ballpark club where Isaac and his friends had been celebrating. Two people were killed and two wounded. Isaac was randomly shot in the foot and went down as fleeing people trampled over him. He literally was sliding, rolling, dragging himself out of the building onto the icy walkway. The gunman remains at large.
Isaac had emergency surgery and the bullet has been removed. He is in a boot and on crutches. His foot is healing, but his knee which he has had two previous surgeries on is re-injured. He can't bend it, can't walk, can't stand, in a lot of pain. So instead of returning back to his home and his job in Seattle, he is here in Denver indefinitely. He has gone to our sports doctors at CU Health and is currently waiting on his MRI and to see if the knee is torn again. Possibly more surgery. Depending on what needs to be done, he will not be able to work for 5 or more weeks. His medical expenses are covered by insurance to a certain extent.
Isaac is so independent. He works hard and never asks for help, always does everything on his own. But I am asking for you to help him. Please consider donating to help with his medical expenses, rent, and food. We are praying he heals fully and quickly so he can get back on his feet again. Thank you for helping our kid.
