Help Isaac Navigate the World Easier

Donation protected
As many of you know, when Isaac became sick with mastoiditis, meningitis, multiple blood clots on his brain, and venous sinus thrombosis, it caused increased intracranial pressure, which caused papilledema and cut off proper blood flow to his eyes, causing permanent vision damage that isn’t correctable with glasses. In addition to his vision loss, he developed an exotropia in his left eye (the eye with more damage), further affecting his vision. The exotropia is causing Isaac to have double vision in addition to his vision loss. In November, his neuro-ophthalmologist tried a minimally invasive procedure to try and correct his exotropia (Botox injections) because at the time, Isaac was still on dual platelet therapy due to his brain aneurysm. His brain aneurysm stent was still in the process of clotting off his aneurysm, making Botox injections safer than surgery. The Botox procedure was unsuccessful, but now Isaac is off one of his blood thinners and his aneurysm is clotted off, making surgery possible. Surgery is scheduled for April 1st, which will hopefully resolve his double vision.

As a large family in today’s economy, hospitalizations and multiple, multiple trips to Boston over the past 2 years for continued care have definitely been challenging financially. We are forever thankful for those who helped us through his hospitalizations and for helping make all those trips possible. If anyone would like to help with the expenses of our next trip, it would be greatly appreciated. We travel down to Boston Children’s on March 21st for his pre-op appointment and then back down again on the 31st for his surgery on April 1st.
