Across West Africa, particularly in economically disadvantaged communities, football represents more than just a game, it’s hope, opportunity, and a potential pathway to success. But for too many young athletes, they often have to sacrifice their education. Football can be cruel and it only takes one terrible injury for a dream that has been hold tight to fade away. Also, access to elite football is highly exclusive with 0.02% of children playing for the world best football academies going pro.
This challenge led to the creation of Club Academico Community Football, an initiative ensuring young aspiring footballers remain in full-time education while receiving professional-level training and equipment at no cost. Since its launch, the program has empowered many children and young people to pursue both academic and sporting excellence, helping them build a future beyond football.
If you believe in supporting these children through education and football, we will appreciate your support!
As a nonprofit organisation our work is founded on the generosity of donors and volunteers.
Donations and funds raised go directly towards core cost of our program, including transportation to and from football tournaments, educational excursions, books, teaching kits and training equipment. We also provide back to school and training kits at no cost to members. Currently we have over 100 boys and girls on the program ranging from as young as 6 years to 16 years. And we have supports hundreds who have moved on into higher education.
Our program combines 2 days of after school classes with 2 days of football training and competitive match over the weekend (during the football season).
Together, we can create opportunities that last.
