Iroh is a beautiful chocolate husky with one green eye and one blue, a dog whose spirit shines despite a rough start in life. I found him in an overcrowded shelter known for weekly euthanasias, and from the moment I met him, I knew he deserved a second chance. After bringing him home, I potty trained him and helped him learn to trust and feel comfortable again. Slowly, Iroh blossomed into the playful, loving dog he was always meant to be. He loves long walks, hikes, and tug of war, and his goofy side comes out when he chases his own tail or stretches out to eat from his bowl while lying down. Loyal and affectionate, Iroh adores belly rubs, car rides, and making friends with other dogs. He’s only a year old, but he’s already shown incredible resilience and heart.
Recently, Iroh’s world was turned upside down. While relaxing in his yard, two dogs ran up and attacked him, leaving him with severe injuries. It’s heartbreaking because Iroh finally felt safe and loved, and he never expected harm—he just wanted to play. He didn’t fight back; he simply endured, and now he’s the one suffering the consequences. We rushed him to the vet, where the bills quickly added up. Both the initial and emergency visits have been paid, but now he needs surgery at a specialist hospital, and they’re asking for a substantial down payment just to begin treatment. We have no idea what the total cost will be, and between me and his adopters, we simply can’t afford it on our own.
He’s had a glimpse of what true love is and what life should be like, and we don’t want to take that away from him. Iroh is determined and strong-willed, ready to fight for his chance at a full recovery, but he needs people to back him up.
