My friends picked out this sweet boy from a litter, and named him Iroh (after the character in the anime: Avatar). Iroh was only in their home for a few days before they noticed something was wrong.
They returned him to the breeders who said they would nurse him back to health and asked for my friend to come back when he improves. After a couple of months with the breeders, his condition improved and my friends returned for him.
After their first visit to the vet, they found out the breeders failed to complete his vaccinations and were overall dishonest about his health condition at the time of purchase. However, it was too late to return him due to the bond and attachment that developed between my friend and his siblings with their sweet boy. By this point, they couldn’t fathom abandoning him (the breeders were expecting a child and claimed they would not be able to care for him physically and financially).
Iroh has had countless visits to the vet and emergency vet services over the past year, with estimated medical expenses amounting to $30,000 or more, in just over a year. Even with splitting the total between the three of them, this has been overwhelming to manage. But they love him way too much to give up on him now.
I started this Gofundme to help them recoup some of those medical expenses. Currently, he requires a surgical procedure that will cost them an additional $13,000-$15,000. So being able to raise even a fraction of that cost would be extremely helpful and appreciated! I know many pet owners who truly love their pets as one of their own babies, and would go to great lengths to save them. That’s exactly how this family feels about their Iroh.
Any contributions will be received with the utmost gratitude!
