Update 01/07/2026

I wanted to come on here and say thank you so so much to everyone who has donated to the GoFundMe. We are so grateful for your kindness. We are now $700 away from our goal. I am so grateful for everyone taking the step to start this go fund me was hard and a little embarrassing but the support and kindness that has come out of everyone that has reached out has been something. I’ll never forget. I hope you are having a great 2026 so far and I hope y’all have a great rest of your week.

Hello, my name is Irma and I am a mom of two beautiful kids—a 14-year-old daughter and a one-month-old baby boy. I am reaching out because my family is facing a difficult time. When I left work to have my baby, my job did not provide paid maternity leave. Due to complications during my pregnancy, I also did not have any paid time off saved. This meant that our family went from two incomes to just one, and even with two incomes, it was already a struggle to make ends meet. My partner is doing his best to support us, but it has been incredibly hard.

I have tried every option available in my county, applying to multiple programs and reaching out to organizations like 211, but unfortunately, I have not qualified for any assistance. It is embarrassing to ask for help, but I am doing this for my children. I do not want them to experience homelessness or have their lives uprooted. I have done everything I can to avoid this situation, but now I am turning to my community as a last resort.

The funds raised will go directly toward covering our rent so that my children and I can stay in our home. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to us during this challenging time.
