My name is Iris Torres, I am a dedicated Criminal Justice major who has aspirations of contributing to a safer and equitable environment. My education has always been something I enjoyed investing my time into. This major has allowed me to gain more insight towards understanding communities, courts and correctional systems. My current career goals consist of becoming a criminalist/forensic technician. An opportunity arose for me to travel to Dalian,China this summer in which I will attend Dalian Maritime University. Studying here will allow me to not only gain personal experiences and growth but also contribute towards my forensic practices. Learning hands on examination techniques within the lab, field, and courts. Getting international experience will allow me to compare differences and similarities of techniques from the U.S to China.

That being said, because it was an opportunity that was brought upon me with shorter notice an I was not fully prepared with the expenses of this trip. I know it is a big ask but 

I would appreciate any contributions as I am still working hard to make some of this money on my own while being a full time student. Thank you for hearing my story.
