Help Iris fight Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer

After a couple of weeks of tests and doctors’ appointments in late August 2019 (Isaiah 41:10), Iris Pickich was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on August 29th (Psalm 77:1-2). On September 17th she had a pre-op consultation and CT scan in preparation for a total thyroidectomy and neck dissection close to home in Biloxi, MS the next day. Iris looked forward to completing the surgery and quickly returning to focusing on her family, church, and business. However, on the evening of September 17th, her oncologist called with the results of the CT scan. It revealed nodules on both sides of the lungs and Iris was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer. Iris’s surgery was cancelled, and she has been referred to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. (Psalm 23:4). Iris is the wife of Jack Pickich and the mother of four-year-old Sienna and two-year-old Maddie. She has been an active member of New Testament Baptist Church in Biloxi since 2015, where she is dearly loved by her brothers and sisters in Christ. She serves ceaselessly with her wisdom and grace, her graphic design skills, and her infectious zeal for Christ. Some of Iris and Jack’s financial concerns include medical bills, travel expenses, and taking care of their two little girls. Jack can get time off work through the FMLA but will not get paid during that time. And Jack and Iris are already experiencing challenges with their regular monthly expenses due to the increase in medical bills, which will only continue to grow and will include travel costs as well. Iris seeks to bring all honor and glory to her Sovereign Savior Jesus Christ, even through the uncertainty of her present suffering.
