Help Irina Beat Cancer and Keep Her Daughter Safe at Home

Donation protected
Imagine fighting cancer while raising a baby. Now, imagine facing it again, 12 years later as a single mom, while trying to keep your home and provide for your daughter. That’s the heartbreaking reality Irina is facing today.

Irina has always been a fighter - resilient, independent, and determined. She came to the U.S. as a refugee 28 years ago, and has been working tirelessly to build a better life for herself and her family.

At 39, just six months after giving birth to her daughter, Alice, Irina was diagnosed with breast cancer. She endured chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation—all while caring for her infant. For the next decade, she remained vigilant with regular checkups, hoping the cancer would never return.

In addition to her health struggles, Irina spent 11 years in a challenging custody battle, fighting to provide a stable life for Alice. The emotional and financial toll was overwhelming, and to this day, she is still paying off attorney fees.

This past November, Irina suffered another setback when she fractured a rib, making it impossible for her to continue working her job in retail due to the heavy lifting required, and was not given any short-term disability benefits.

Then, on January 15, Irina got the news every cancer survivor dreads—her breast cancer had returned in a more intense, aggressive form. Now facing another year of grueling treatments and medical procedures, she is unable to work full-time, making it increasingly difficult to support her 12-year-old daughter.

Despite these hardships, Irina continues to work part-time as an in-home caregiver to cover basic expenses. Unfortunately, with her chemo and upcoming surgery, she won’t be able to continue working for much longer. The only support she has comes from her retired, disabled mother, but even with her help, it’s not enough. She’s at risk of losing her home and has no viable options to sell or rent it. And because of her current circumstances, she doesn’t qualify for an equity loan.

Irina has always been proudly independent and hardworking, never expecting to ask for help. But she really doesn’t have a choice now. The financial strain is overwhelming. Without help, she may lose her home in the next two months.

Irina needs help covering critical expenses while she undergoes treatment over the next year, including her mortgage payments of $2,000/month and $450/month for basic necessities like utilities and groceries.
Our goal is to help her raise $29,000 by April 15th to help her stay afloat and keep them in their home over the next 12 months.

With the help of her amazing doctors, her mom, and her determination to be there for her daughter, Irina hopes to be independent and able to provide for them again in 12 months time. But she needs our help to get there.

Please donate today to give Irina and Alice the stability they need to get through this frightening ordeal. Even a small contribution can help cover medical bills, keep the lights on, and keep a roof over their heads.
Irina has spent her life working hard, never asking for help. Now, she has no choice but to reach out. Let’s show her she’s not alone in this fight.

If you can’t donate, please share this campaign to help them reach others who can.
