Dear Friends and Kind Strangers:
My name is Nikolay and I am reaching out to you to help save my wife’s life.
In 2022, my wife Irina was diagnosed with Stage II astrocytoma, a slow-growing glioma which is a brain tumor. It was the scariest night in my life when I found her unconscious on the floor. I did everything I could to try and wake her up, but nothing worked. In desperation I called 911. When paramedics arrived, she didn’t recognize me or our young son. She could hear sometimes and even answered a few questions, but she was unable to see anything sitting on the bed with her eyes wide open. She was taken to the hospital where we discovered that she had a brain tumor.
The first surgery was successful, with a 95% of the tumor removed. A thin layer of it that was located too close to motor fibers was left behind to avoid causing paralysis or other permanent damage. Since her first surgery, the glioma returned and became more aggressive. Irina then had to undergo a second surgery.
Unfortunately, the tumor has now progressed to stage IV. She is getting ready to receive a treatment plan: radiation therapy, as well as chemotherapy for 6 weeks. After this, she has to take chemo for 6 more months. Irina is currently focusing on complimentary treatments, such as high dose vitamin C IVs, autohemotherapy with ozone and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which enhance the standard treatment.
My wife is facing a battle of a lifetime. The financial burden of medical bills, treatments, and everyday expenses has become overwhelming for our family, as I am the sole financial provider working 12 hours days.
Irina is not just a cancer patient; she is a beloved daughter, wife and a mother of two children, with our youngest being only 7 year old boy. Her biggest wish is to live long enough to see her son grow up.
We are a very close-knit family, living in a positive and loving environment. We manifest together, set goals, and are planning our future lives. I have a strong faith that all of our dreams will one day come true. I love my wife deeply, and I admire how she takes care of our family. I can’t imagine my life without her, and I wish that our little son will always have his mommy.
The road ahead is daunting, uncertain, but hopefully long, life-saving, and successful.
Thank you for reading my wife’s story.
