Help Irina and Corina

It is with great sorrow that I recently heard the news that one of my best friend’s husband Keith has unexpectedly and suddenly passed away. Keith was a very kind person, ready to help anyone in any time of the day. He was a veteran of the armed forces and was proud to serve his country for 16 years in military, army, navy, and National Guard helping on the field after Katrina hurricane. He is survived by his wife Irina, and young three-year-old daughter Corina.
Those that knew Keith, knows that he had many battles and was a brave soul torn with hardship. After he served our country, he bravely fought against a battle with brain cancer three times and successfully beat it into remission for eight years. After starting a family, both Keith and his wife Irina worked very hard to provide for their family. During these times, opportunities were few and the bills kept growing. Top it off, Hurricane Irma recently passed through and caused major damage to their home which was not fully covered by insurance. Both Keith and Irina ended up taking whatever jobs they could to provide the basic family necessities and a good home for their daughter. In order to make ends meet and pay the bills, both parents had to work long hours and/or sporadic schedules if/when work was available.
Irina continues to be a mother to their child, working as waitress at night to pay the bills, and going to nursing school in hopes of giving her child a better future. While she is receiving some help from Keith’s relatives, most of her family is overseas and their daycare and expenses continue to add up.
If you are a parent, you know how much work it takes to give your child what they need. If you are a single parent, the work required more than doubles. My friend Irina never asked for anything, but as a fellow parent and friend, it is my responsibility to help her make it through these difficult times so she can get back on her feet, finish her nursing degree, and find a stable source of income for her child.
As Irina can’t do it alone, I know just my help isn’t enough. I am asking anyone who reads this - anyone who can sympathize with losing a loved one to donate and help them with their bills and leave her with fewer bills to worry about.
Please donate whatever you can. Small amounts add up and small deeds can have a greater impact than you could ever know.
