Hi everyone!

My name is Irena, and I am a senior at Arizona State University, preparing to venture on an incredible trip. Starting January 5th, 2025, I will be spending part of my last semester of college studying abroad in Milan, Italy. I've always had a passion for traveling, and this opportunity is a perfect way to combine my love for adventure with my education.

As a science major working towards becoming a physician assistant, I believe that studying abroad will give me a broader perspective not only on different cultures but also on healthcare and health disparities in an international context. Experiencing life in another country, meeting new people, and stepping out of my comfort zone will help me grow both personally and professionally. I hope to bring these experiences back with me to improve my future work in healthcare, offering more compassionate and culturally aware care to patients.

This trip is more than just an academic pursuit—it's about expanding my horizons, making lifelong connections, and immersing myself in a culture that I've always wanted to explore. My interest in the rich history of Milan and connecting with people from different cultures will have a lasting experience and impact on me.
