Hello, my name is Raida Shamo, and I am raising funds to help Sanan, a Iraqi Chaldean Catholic refugee who came to the U.S. in 1994 as a child seeking safety and a better life.

Today, Sanan is facing the terrifying reality that he was deported to Iraq illegally with unrecognizable travel documents.during these times where Christians continue to face persecution and violence. Sanan has no family or support system there.

his life is in immediate danger,not having a proper travel document.

Sanan was detained at North Lake Processing Center while his immigration case was ongoing. This experience has taken a severe toll on his mental and physical health. He lives every day with fear and anxiety, uncertain of what the future holds.

Sanan has shared that during this process, he has been subjected to intense pressure and intimidation while in custody. He describes being told things like: “If you run, I will shoot you in the back,” and “I will put you on the plane in a cage like a dog.”

These words have left him terrified and feeling hopeless, making the need for urgent legal help even more critical
