While moving to San Antonio for retirement, Ira Framo and his wife were in a serious car accident. Ira took the impact to protect his wife. He was flown to two hospitals, lost his left arm, suffered brain injuries, and remains in the ICU on a ventilator.

He's showing small signs of progress, but still faces a long road with more surgeries, rehab, and another life flight to San Antonio.
