My name is Ira Hawkins and 5 months ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma bone cancer. I am currently at OSU Hospital but should be discharged soon.

I am unable to return to the residence where I resided prior to this hospital stay because it was 2 hours away. I would have been unable to find transportation back and forth to Columbus for chemo and radiation treatments. My only vehicle blew up 2 months after I paid it off, and being that I'm on a fixed income, I have been unable to buy a replacement.

On Monday, when I received my monthly check, I helped someone I trusted as a friend. This was done with the promise I would be paid back within a couple of days. This person is now refusing to pay me. I am now needing to find a place in Newark to be close to family and have some assistance when needed.

A friend has a van for $2500 and is willing to sell it to me for $1000. I don't like to ask for help, but it is obvious to me now that I need it. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story. I will be grateful and appreciative of any help offered. Thank you!
