Hi, my name is Ema and I am fundraising for my beloved friend Ionela throughout her recovery journey.

Ionela has spent her entire career caring for others as a Clinical Nurse Manager. She is a loving wife to Vasi, a devoted mum to her beautiful 7 years old twins, Adam and Arya. She’s always been a kind friend who always puts everyone else first.

Now, after years of selflessly caring for patients, Ionela urgently needs our help.

For years, Ionela has fought courageously against severe health challenges—enduring countless surgeries, painful infections, and extended hospital stays.

In February, after a heartbreakingly difficult period of illness, she underwent a below-knee amputation.

True to her spirit, Ionela met this life-altering challenge with incredible strength. She poured every ounce of her energy into adapting to her prosthetic leg, reclaiming her independence, and being there for her young family.

Tragically, Ionela was just dealt another devastating blow. Yesterday, she underwent surgery to amputate her remaining leg.

She is now facing the overwhelming reality of bilateral amputation, a grueling recovery, and a completely transformed way of life.

Because of this, Ionela can no longer work. Vasi has also had to step back from his job to become her primary caregiver and look after Adam and Arya, the financial strain has become immense.

Ionela spent her life being the one who shows up for people in their hardest moments. Now it’s our turn to show up for her and her beautiful family.

We are raising funds to give Ionela, Vasi, and their children the financial breathing room they desperately need as they navigate this long road ahead and all challenges coming on the way.
