Help Iona purchase a new home to live in!

Hi, we are friends of Iona Holloway and are trying to raise enough money to purchase a modest new home for Iona to live in. Let me tell you why we want to do this for this remarkable woman.
At the age of 77, Iona lost her home of over 70 years last August during Hurricane Ida. Her entire roof caved in, flooding the inside of her house and spreading fiberglass from the insulation on all her belongings. She lost everything; all of her clothes and personal items were destroyed, along with her home. Sadly, she did not have insurance. Her house was demolished, and she is currently living in a FEMA trailer.
Before losing her home, Iona had previously faced yet another tragedy. On April 10th, 2020, James, her loving husband of 40 years, died from COVID-19.
Despite all these obstacles, Iona has not once lost faith. She is not bitter; she is not disgruntled. In fact, if you met her today, you would probably never have guessed she has gone through so many tribulations. She will talk to you, she will smile at you, and she will ask, "How are YOU doing?"
This extraordinary woman has led her entire life serving others. She has given her time in roles such as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the St. John the Baptist Parish Housing Board, President of the St. John Association of Educators, and as a valued member of the National Education Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She has impacted many lives over the course of 40 years, working as a paraprofessional, bus monitor and attendance officer for St. John parish public schools.
In addition to her community service, Iona is always there to help out her family members and friends when they are in need. She was devoted to caring for her Aunt and Uncle until their passing and currently cares for her amazing granddaughter with special needs. Her family and friends feel so Blessed to have her in their lives.
We all know it's a lot to ask of friends and strangers to help someone with such a huge request, but if you were going to help someone, and you wanted to make sure it was for someone deserving..... Iona's the one.
The funds will be used to purchase a modest pre-fabricated home.
