Ion Chilom is a 77-year-old man who has been away from Romania for 44 years. After falling on hard times, Ion is currently toughing it out on the streets, facing each day with resilience and hope. Despite his circumstances, Ion remains kind-hearted and never complains, simply trying to figure out one day at a time. In his youth, Ion was a competitive soccer goalie and handball player, served in the Romanian Army, and taught himself to speak Russian, German, and English. He also worked as an electrician, showing determination and adaptability throughout his life. His greatest wish is to return home to Romania and spend his remaining years surrounded by familiar faces and the comfort of his homeland.

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward purchasing a one-way plane ticket to Craiova, Romania, covering food and travel costs, a few nights in hotels, passport renewal fees, a new set of clothes, and some pocket money to help Ion settle in. Every dollar will make a tangible difference in helping Ion achieve his dream of going home after so many years.
