Help investigate why Pete is poorly

This is Pete! He's a total diamond of a cat and charms everyone he meets.

He's also poorly. Although he has settled well in to foster care and seems happy enough, he has a nasty skin condition. On top of that, we discovered at his vet MOT that there is something going on internally. There are too many areas of concern to know exactly what the problem is or how to treat it.

In order to work out the problem, the vet needs to run a whole host of blood tests and a thyroid test. These alone come with a £330 price tag and will reveal what funds will be required going forward.

I never give up on a cat if i think it could have a happy future and we owe it to Pete to try and establish how to help him.

If you can contribute in any way towards the cost of Pete's blood tests it would be so appreciated. The sooner we have them done, the sooner we can help him get well and find him the forever home he deserves.

In the mean time, Pete has had a steroid injection today to help him feel more comfortable.

About Rebecca and Penny paws

Hi I am Rebecca and I have a mission. Incase you don’t know me already, that mission is

-to scoop up the lost, abused and abandoned
- teach them to trust and love again - get them healthy and happy
- and neuter or spay them so we can get a grip on the kitten epidemic in this country
- then find them the forever home they truly deserve….

I think cats are underrated and misunderstood! They are also suffering a huge but little known crisis here in the UK.

A few years ago I realised I could do a bit to help some of those in need. So I embarked on a one woman, self funded, (slightly bonkers) mission to save as many as i could.

It quickly became clear that as one woman, my ability to help was limited. But I was not alone. All over the country people are dedicating their time, money and soul in to the same end goal.

By connecting with these individuals and working together as a network, Penny Paws has been able to create second chances for scores of cats and offer them the futures they truly deserve.

It’s a full time ‘job’ but I make no profit financially - although it definitely benefits me spiritually to do this.

I believe that every cat deserves to be loved and to feel safe. And while I can’t help them all, I do as much as I can. In order for this to work, I use my own finances, every penny of adoption fees and also kind donations to cover my costs of caring for current residents and whoever comes next (this includes providing the necessary food, litter, toys, vets bills for spaying, neutering, MoTs and medication etc - overwhelmingly high and never ending..). Or to contribute to the costs of satellite foster homes caring for the cats I don’t have capacity for.
