Hi, we are Team Interstellar 58418B, an all-girls, first-year VEX robotics team. Because our middle school doesn't offer robotics as part of its courses, we formed our own team outside of school and work out of our friend's garage. This year, we qualified for the 2021-2022 World Championships in Dallas, Texas, but to get there we need a little help. We would greatly appreciate it if you could pitch in a little to help us raise enough money to cover the competition cost. The $4200 would cover the registration, travel, hotel, and supply cost to safely transport our robot from the Bay Area to Dallas.
We participated in four tournaments (including states) where we received the Judges Award (for the team deserving recognition from judges for special accomplishments) and the Amaze Award (for the team with an amazing, well-rounded, and top performing robot). In the State Championships, we ranked third out of the twenty one best teams in Northern California in the qualifiers round. We also achieved 310 points in Robot Skills, which allowed us to qualify for Worlds!
For the past eight months, we have been spending all our weekends building, coding, and driving our robot, hoping to qualify for Worlds. And at the end, our hard work finally paid off, and we qualified! Doing VEX has turned our already close friendship into an unbreakable bond. We got firsthand experience working with metal, creating mechanical designs, coding a fully autonomous robot, and putting our driving skills to the test. We hope to finally show off all of our hard work at the World Championships, which is why we need your support to get us there. After this season, we also plan to put our experience and knowledge to good use and help other teams starting out.
Thank you so much for your encouragement; we greatly appreciate it!
