My name is Hani. I left Pakistan and came to the United States with a single dream, which is to build something of my own. One day, I want to open my own business here in America. That dream starts with the degree I'm working toward right now: a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus on supply chain and logistics.
I'm currently in my second semester, and I'm the first person in my entire family to study abroad. Every lecture, every assignment, every late night carries the weight of that, not as pressure, but as purpose. I got the achievement of being on the 'Dean's list' in my first semester here in the United States.
My days are simple but full. I hit the gym to stay focused. I have to take care of my mental health, or I will go on a self-destructive mode. I grind through my coursework, and yes, I'm a gamer. Gaming taught me strategy, patience, and how to keep going after you lose. Those same skills are what keep me pushing forward right now, because right now, things are hard.
My family back home cannot support me financially. I've been actively searching for work, but as an international student, employment options are limited and competitive. Without help covering this semester's tuition, I risk losing my enrollment and everything I've sacrificed to get here.
I'm not asking for a handout. I'm asking for a bridge, just enough to stay enrolled while I keep working toward standing on my own. Any amount helps. Even sharing this page makes a difference.
Thank you for reading my story. You might be the reason I get to keep writing it.
