TLDR: Our transmission is shot. Please help us finish our tour :(

Hello friends,

On Saturday just before we reached our Atlanta show the van we were using started to make some concerning noises. The next morning we took the van into a shop where they told us that the issue we were having seemed to be low transmission fluid. After refilling the transmission fluid, they told us it would take a few miles of driving to recirculate in the system.

As we were on our way to the Nashville date of our tour with Origami Angel and Pool Kids the issue was seemingly resolved until a few miles later when the van started having issues shifting gears. We pulled over at a gas station and we became unable to move the van further. We ordered a tow to the nearest transmission shop that was open. The shop, upon a cursory diagnostic assessment told us they thought the transmission just needed to flushed and have a filter replaced. The shop then closed before being able to do the repair and despite our best efforts we were unable to make it to our show.

This morning we received the worst news possible, the van's transmission is shot and in need of a replacement or a complete rebuild. We do not have the time or resources to complete this repair. The van we rented from our friend is currently in Marietta, GA, several hundred miles from the owner’s home.

In order to finish this tour we now have to rent a new van. The expenses incurred by the new rental, the van repairs, towing, retrieving and delivering the original van, and lost revenue from missing a sold out show are overwhelming to say the least.

(The mechanic quoted the repair alone at $5200)

We asking for help so that we can complete our tour safely.
