Help Injured ALU Organizer&Member David Sherwood

Donation protected
David-Desyrée Sherwood is a co-founder of the ALU Democratic Reform Caucus and has been integral for organizing our caucus and union presence inside of JFK8. On June 14th, while working his typical night shift, David suffered a back injury that resulted in a severe muscle spasm, and likely a herniated disk as well. This injury, which came about because of Amazon’s neglect to take care of its employees, has resulted in David being unable to work.

David still serves on the caucus Steering Committee and is a candidate for the constitution committee on the Democratic Reform slate in the upcoming ALU leadership elections. He has been placed on an unpaid leave while he fights for workers’ compensation, which even then would only be part of his typical paycheck.

We are raising money for him because he’s been there for the workers of JFK8, and it’s time we are there for him to support him while he heals. As an outstanding and compassionate organizer, he has played a hugely important role in successfully growing the ALU Reform Caucus and organizing the Ship Dock department in the JFK8 warehouse.
