UWC Perú is organizing this fundraiser to support Ingrith, one of just 7 students selected from a pool of over 600 outstanding applicants to attend a UWC school.
She has been awarded a full scholarship to attend UWC East Africa, covering her tuition for two years. However, essential costs such as flights, visas, and a laptop (required for the program) are not included and represent a significant financial barrier to her attendance.
Your contribution will directly support Ingrith in accessing this life-changing opportunity and continuing the journey she has worked so hard to achieve.
Ingrith’s story
English
My story begins in a small town in Puno, Peru, where opportunities are scarce but dreams are boundless. I grew up learning that where you come from doesn’t determine how far you can go.
My family migrated in search of a better future, and through their example, I understood that courage can transform destinies. Every sacrifice they made became my motivation to never give up, to work harder, and to believe in myself even when the path seemed uncertain.
Over time, I decided that I didn’t just want to get ahead, but also to make an impact. I led environmental projects with T’ikary, rescued animals with Krono-Patitas, and promoted gender equality with Kusisqa. Each initiative taught me that change begins with small, consistent actions, carried out with commitment and love for the community.
Today, after years of academic effort and service, I have been nominated to a United World Colleges (UWC) school. This opportunity represents much more than a personal achievement: it is the chance to access a quality education to better prepare myself and fight for gender equality, social justice, and more opportunities for young people who, like me, come from underprivileged backgrounds.
Supporting me is supporting the change I am already building.
Today you can be part of my story.
