Help Indy Fight Lymphoma
Indy Update: Sadly, after a successful 12 out of 15 weeks of chemo, Indy is no longer in remission and his cancer has returned. We can’t continue the current CHOP protocol because it will no longer help. We’re trying a different treatment called Rescue Protocol which will be five, one month cycles, how he responds to it will determine how many cycles he can do. The success rate is about 50% so we’re just hoping it will at least make him comfortable, happy, and symptom free for as long as possible. Just when we thought things were looking up with him, we get this news, but he’s a tough boy and will forever be my best friend ❤️
Our sweet, happy boy was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma this week. He's only 6 years old and we always imagined that we would have him until he's old and gray. To think that we could lose him so soon is devastating to us. If you know Tabby and I, you know how much Indy means to us, he is the light in our life and we cannot imagine a life without him. He's my best friend, my adventure buddy, and is so, so loving. We're going to do everything we can to take care of him. After weeks of expensive testing and medication to stabilize him, we're going to begin chemotherapy and steroids to fight the cancer. If the chemotherapy is successful and he goes into remission, they expect that he will have 6-12 months to live. But we know he's a fighter so our hope is he will stay with us for much, much longer. Nothing could've ever prepared us for this, he's our entire world. At this point we have exhausted most of our financial options and have used up our annual limit for our pet insurance, and this was all just to get him to chemotherapy. They said if he responds well to it, which we know he will, it will cost an additional $7000-$7500. As long as he is happy and comfortable, we want to do everything we can for him so while we hate to ask, we are looking for a little help so we can do our absolute best for him.
We love you more than anything in this world bud, please don't ever leave us.
