We have loved being in Carytown for over 20 years. Despite a financial crisis, a fire to the building, and COVID-19, we have persevered. We have formed long-lasting relationships with our awesome customers and the fantastic RVA community. Our store is a establishment for fair trade shoppers, a meeting ground for creatives, artisans, and international travelers, and a safe space for activist events in the LGBTQ+ community. We want to keep our doors open and support communities both in RVA and across the Americas.
We are a social enterprise that has developed fair trade and direct trade market opportunities for Indigenous producers for the past two decades in the Highlands of Guatemala, Ecuador, and Arizona. Our goal is to continue to create a space where Indigenous peoples can compete in the global marketplace, therefore allowing them to provide for and improve their communities. We need your help to keep us going!
Your donation of any amount is appreciated and will directly go to keeping AlterNatives Boutique open for business!
