We put up this fundraising campaign with a broken heart as Meghana (23) has always been the smart one full of potential and dreams among her family and friends. Her academic track record proves her intelligence and countless hours of hard work. But unfortunately, Meghana met with an accident in Columbia, MO, about a week ago while returning to her home.

An emergency medical helicopter took her to the ER at Missouri Orthopedic Institute in Columbia. She survived the accident with major fractures to her left leg and right hand, affecting the right-hand nerve. She has already gone through multiple hours of surgeries on her leg and hand. Currently, she cannot move her hand due to a nerve issue caused by a broken bone. She needs to undergo multiple physiotherapy sessions to regain hand and leg movement. We will use the money acquired through this fundraising for surgeries, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care. Even after Meghana's insurance coverage, her treatment and rehab program estimates are an exorbitant out-of-pocket expense that is only possible to meet through group effort.

Meghana comes from a lower middle-class family from Moranchapalli, Telangana. She completed her bachelor's at JNTU (Hyderabad). She went to the US in 2021 to pursue her Master's in Computer Science & Information Systems (University of Central Missouri) and to provide a better life for her family. She is now in her last semester and has yet to decide whether to take a semester break to travel to India until she completely recovered.
