Lost my father but wont loose battle against Covid

Donation protected

We have all been witnessing a tough fight against COVID globally. However as an American Indian I am faced with disparate realities..one in my home country India and the other in the US. While I feel safe as America looks forward to a glorious summer after losing 2020 to the virus, my ordeals with COVID19 have not ebbed and neither has it for most of the other Indian Americans. Every phone call or text makes us anxious with what you are going to hear. Almost every Indian American has lost a friend, family member or relative in India in the last few weeks...and yes I did too.

My father, a healthy 74 year old man with no underlying conditions just lost his battle to COVID without even getting a chance to fight. When I lost my mother and was unable to meet her before she left I made a promise to myself, I will never let my father feel lonely.. I will always be there when he needed me. Little had I known that 5 years later I will be seeing him reduce to ashes on a video call hundreds of miles away.

This was not the end of my suffering. It was now my younger brother ( Vicky) and his wife who were infected. Even though I am relieved that they have now recovered, the excruciating pain of loosing our father remains. However we know that we are not the only ones tormented. The second wave of the pandemic has swept the country like a Tsunami. It has torn apart families and orphaned many children. Tens of thousands of people have died and millions more are still dealing with the effects of the virus. Those who have survived are not only grieving the loss of their loved ones but are also left wondering if they will ever be able to get back on their feet..and if yes then how.

Vicky wants to reach out to any such family devastated by the virus. For several years he has dedicated his life in helping others. Feeding the hungry, providing clothes, medicines and other essential day today commodities to people in dire need of it are some of the relief works that he has been doing. During lockdown last year he made transportation available for people to reach home safely. He also arranged oxygen cylinders and helped infected people get timely medical help during the second deadly wave of the virus.

After his ordeals with COVID19, Vicky is motivated more than ever to alleviate the pain of others in any possible way. Please help him in this noble cause.

The money raised will be used in the following ways:

1. to feed people  who are living below the poverty line; the daily workers who are joblessness because if the lockdown ; those children who are unable to go to school in Covid and are missing out on school meals.

2. To procure necessary ration for cooking meals  and distribute amongst the needy.

3. To provide medicines and necessary medical supplies to people suffering from the virus

4. To provide transportation to people suffering from Covid to hospitals

5. Any other support that people might need to recover from loosing their loved ones
