Help India during the COVID crisis

Donation protected

Hello! I am a sophomore in high school. Last year when the COVID pandemic closed schools, me, and my siblings organized a book drive and the community generously contributed hundreds of books which were donated to the Rescue Mission and San Diego county office of Education for kids in need. This year I am asking your help to aid during India`s second wave of COVID crisis. My grandparents who live in India are in lock down again and I have many other relatives who are in difficult times and the people of India desperately need our support. The spread of COVID-19 infections in India is so massive, the first 21 days of May has already become the deadliest month of the pandemic in the country. Cases reported so far in May crossed 7.1 million on May 21st going past the previous record of 6.9 million last month, accounting for over 27% of all infections detected since the beginning of the pandemic last year. With the hospital system overwhelmed, the need of the hour in donations towards essential medical supplies (oxygen and hospital beds), transportation, food security, and shelter are far greater. The money raised through this effort will support NGOs and organizations serving sections of society most in need. Make a lifesaving donation today to support vulnerable families heal from COVID19.

The donations from this fund will go to 3 nonprofit organizations.  In the interest of being transparent, the money will be managed by my mother, Dr. Soumya Rao as our Treasurer as every member of the team is a minor. All transactions will be recorded to ensure transparency.
