Help Indi and Elle after vicious dog attack

Donation protected
UPDATE: 11/07/2023Unfortunately last night Indi passed away due to three heart attacks while being operated on. She fought until the very end and was such an incredibly brave little pup who will forever be loved by many.

The donations will be used to pay for Indi’s outstanding vet bills and any amount raised over will be donated to Veterinary Specialists of Sydney (VSOS) who worked so tirelessly and hard to save little Indie. These contributions will be used for any future pet owners who can’t afford to pay for their pet medical bills.

We want to say a huge thank you to each and everyone of you who have donated, sent kind words and had both Elle and Indi in their thoughts over the last couple of days.

STORY: We are seeking your support for Elle, Tom, and their beloved dog, Indi, who recently experienced a horrifying ordeal that left Elle both physically and emotionally scarred, and Indi fighting for her life. Their lives were forever changed when a man walked his dogs near the Georges River in Lugarno, resulting in a series of events that filled their lives with sorrow, heartache, and unspeakable pain. Elle has suffered severe physical injuries and will have a long road to recovery, not to mention the emotional damage experienced, but it is not herself that Elle is concerned about; Indi has suffered horrendous, life-threatening injuries. Despite currently receiving the best care possible, there is no guarantee that Indi will pull through. Any financial support and assistance that may be provided will go an incredibly long way to assisting Indi's fight for survival, with the medical bill already reaching $25,000, prior to what will be hopefully life-saving surgery. Elle and Tom had recently moved to the area, specifically choosing Lugarno for its bush trails and locale near the Georges River so that their bright little Jack Russell cross Cattle Dog, Indi, could explore the area on their daily walks. Whilst Tom was visiting family near Huskisson, Elle took Indi for their usual Sunday morning walk, opting for the bush track to reach the bottom of Gannons Park. Elle and Indi came across a man walking two large dogs, which both immediately began stalking Indi, becoming quite aggressive, hounding and nipping at her. Indi, overwhelmed with fear, darted towards the river in a desperate attempt to escape the relentless assault. The dogs chased, followed by Elle and the man who was walking these dogs. Indi was forced beyond the mangroves and into the mudflats beyond. The larger dogs caught Indi once again, pinning her under the mud for a period. With no hesitation, Elle charged after Indi, into the mangroves, her own safety abandoned in her unwavering determination to save her loyal companion. In a heroic act, Elle managed to pull Indi from the clutches of the attacking dogs, but not without sustaining severe injuries herself. From the shore, the man walking the dogs blew a dog whistle he had on him, causing the dogs to pause. Elle took the opportunity to move a little further out, as she desperately tried to shield her companion from further harm. At this point, Elle turned back around toward the shore, toward the bush where she expected to see the man standing; he was nowhere to be seen. Elle, now stuck in the mud, holding her beloved Indi was alone; alone with these two, relentless dogs who were continuing to circle Elle and Indi. For 20 minutes, Elle stood in neck deep mud holding Indi above, trying to clear Indi’s airway of mud, and continuing to hold the larger dogs off. After a harrowing rescue from emergency services, resulting in authorities themselves also becoming stuck in the process, Elle was rushed to emergency so her injuries could be tended to, whilst brave little Indi was hurried to veterinary intensive care. Elle and Indi's road to recovery will be long and arduous, both physically and emotionally. The trauma they have endured has left them with deep scars that will take time to heal. We are humbly reaching out to compassionate individuals like you, seeking your support to help them rebuild their lives and regain their sense of security in our own backyard. By donating to this GoFundMe campaign, you will provide Elle and Tom with the necessary resources to give Indi the best chance of survival, and provide Elle with the support necessary to overcome this incredibly traumatic event. Your generosity will not only aid their physical recovery but also contribute to their emotional healing, ensuring that they can overcome the trauma inflicted upon them. Let us come together as a community to show Elle and Indi that they are not alone in their pain. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in their lives, helping them find solace and strength as they embark on the challenging journey towards healing and rebuilding their shattered spirits. Join us in turning sorrow and heartache into hope and resilience. Stand up against the injustices Elle and Indi have endured, and together, let us create a world where compassion prevails over cruelty. Donate today and be a part of their journey to a brighter future.
