Help in.cube8r complete new store fit-out in Melb Central

TLDR: We need your help to finish the fitout at our new store in Melbourne Central ASAP!

Who we are

in.cube8r is a small business that supports over 230 local artists, makers and creatives in Melbourne and throughout Australia.

Currently in.cube8r is in the depths of fitting out a new custom-designed space in Melbourne Central to continue to bring together local Australian artists. The space features cubes for artists to sell their work and pay no commission on sales.

We've created this Go Fund Me to help us raise money for in.cube8r - and specifically in.cube8r Melbourne Central.

The story

While we anticipated that the fit out would cost a lot due to shopping centre requirements ($120,000 with a contribution from the shopping centre helping us cover part of the costs), the issues faced throughout the fit-out have lead to at least $25,000 in additional fit out costs, as well as the lost revenue from several weeks that we've not been able to be open.

The revenue that was projected for the first month was to be used to cover the costs of the fit out, but the delays have caused cashflow issues & other knock on costs that come with constantly pivoting and changing. Unfortunately, we still need to pay the rent if we aren't open. We were meant to open July 28, and had budgeted accordingly.

Our team has been going in at night to do what we can around the shop fitters to bring the opening date forward as much as possible, as we are dependent on being open to get back to a safe financial position & pay the bills that are piling up (even though the shop fitters may cause the delays, this doesn't mean they don't expect their bills paid when they send them).

How you can help

If you are able to make a donation to help us recover some sunk costs, and get this space open ASAP it would make a massive difference to us, and the artists we support every day.

Your donation will go directly to helping us cover these costs until we can finally open and start to generate income. Your donation will help us continue to be a driving force in the maker community and keep selling the local art we (and you!) love so much.
