A mother at heart, despite never having kids, Tita Tess or Ninang Tess gives her all to her family. When my family moved entirely to a new country, she took great care of me and my siblings, helping my parents raise us and assimilate in America. She did a lot for us, and looking back, I took her care for granted. She's a second mother to us, to all her nieces and nephews.

Even going back home to the Philippines, she continued to care for her whole family, focusing on her father's health, our late grandfather. The eldest of 6 children, the eldest daughter, she's the rock of the family. She’s a second mother to all her siblings.

Tita Tess is currently struggling. She took a hard fall at home, injuring her head, which sent her to the hospital. She underwent emergency brain surgery in order to save her life. Though surgery was successful, Tita Tess has not regained consciousness. The family that she cared for all her life is racked with the debt of medical and recovery bills. Our family needs help to pay it off. She's cared so much for us, but now it's time for us to take care of Tita Tess.
