The faces of 2 sisters now battling Cancer…
Dana’s 20 yr old daughter, Savanna, was diagnosed with PTLD (Post-transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder) on May 21st, 2024. It’s a disorder on the Cancer spectrum, presents like Lymphoma, and is treated like Cancer. Unfortunately, it is common in solid organ recipients like Savanna due to the immunosuppressant meds she must take as a result of her kidney transplant, which for her happened 9.5 years ago.
She’s under the care of the CHOP Oncology team, who is also treating her 12 yr old sister, Jayla, who was diagnosed with ALCL (Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma) just 3 months ago, February 21st 2024. Her Rituximab infusion treatment started May 24th and she will receive treatment 1x per week for the next 6 weeks then will have another PET scan.
Savanna is very strong & has overcome so much already in her young life… and will do it again! She will be okay… she will beat this!
As for Jayla, she had her 8th & final lumbar puncture last Friday and she just completed chemo #3 of 15 for this current phase! She’s tolerating the Chemo well and continues to be her high-energy, smiling self!
Dana, her daughters, and family appreciate all the love, positive thoughts, support, and prayers all of you continue to share. ❤️
